Our Story

Like many new small businesses, we got started during the pandemic. We like to think of ourselves a little bit as preppers. We try to be prepared for emergencies and have supplies on hand. Every hurricane season we make sure we are stocked up. In 2020, when the lockdown began, and supply chains came to a halt most of us noticed a lack of food choices in the grocery stores. We are spoiled compared to a lot of people around the world and want what we want when we want it. It was hard to see grocery store shelves so bare.
We already did some gardening and started looking into what we could grow ourselves that could be ready for harvest quickly and have a high nutritional value. Searching the internet and youtube my husband, Wayne, came across microgreens. We already ate sprouts from time to time but microgreens were different. We watched tons of videos. Wayne focused on how to set up growing systems and I focused on how to grow the greens. We ordered a few supplies and started growing for ourselves right in the house.
We quickly knew we would enjoy the greens and friends and family started asking for them as well. A few months later we had a couple racks, lights, fans and were growing on a weekly basis. My Tiny Greens was born. I’ve always enjoyed feeding people. Microgreens pair well with the joy I get feeding my friends and family.
